She was born in 1932 in Cold Spring, Minnesota, and was blessed to grow up in a large family with seven brothers and six sisters. In her younger years, Elizabeth served as a governess for the Hill family of Minnesota, founders of the Great Northern Railroad. Later, she lived in Alaska for 10 years, creating many treasured memories before eventually settling in Ohio.
Elizabeth’s strong Catholic faith guided her life. She was a devoted member of St. Matthew the Apostle Parish for more than 30 years, and prior to that, spent 20 years as a member of St. Catherine Parish.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Walsh, who passed away in 1991.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Kevin Walsh; her grandchildren, Kathleen (Jason) Plant and Kyle (Karli) Walsh; and her great-grandchildren, Lila and Remi Plant.
A memorial visitation for Elizabeth will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corners Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made in Elizabeth's honor to St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church.
