Frances "Lynn" Ripley, age 83, of Edgewater, Florida (formerly of Gahanna, Ohio) went to her Heavenly home on July 12, 2026. She was born May 10th, 1943, in the small farming town of Coshocton, Ohio. She grew up in Newcomerstown, the daughter of the late Alfred and Dorothy Heller. Lynn was the youngest of three siblings and they would confirm she was spoiled rotten. Growing up in town, Lynn spent many days riding bikes with her siblings and neighbor kids, climbing trees, and other outdoor games that made the days pass.
She attended Newcomerstown High School. Lynn married Lee Ripley on November 29, 1959 and they shared over 50 wonderful years together. When her children were young, the phrase "stay at home mom" did not exist. It was usual for women to stay at home with the children while their husbands worked. But even by the standards of the era, Lynn was an exceptional wife and mother, always pushing to be the best and give her family the best. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors in Gahanna.
Once her kids were out of school and on their own, she pursued a career in marketing with the Hallmark Company. She really enjoyed working and retired in 2003. During retirement, Lynn and Lee took frequent trips to Daytona Beach, Florida where they enjoyed the warm sunshine and beach. After his passing in 2010, she purchased a home in Edgewater, Florida where she could live as a "snow bird" Down in Florida, she spent many days enjoying sewing, quilting, going to the beach, swimming and many craft projects.
Lynn loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Anchor Baptist Church in Oak Hill, Florida.
Even when she could not attend in person, she always watched online, called her church family, and checked in.
She was a loving wife, caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We will remember her for her love of playing cards, always having a smile for everyone, and her deep devotion to animals, especially dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred L. Heller, Jr. and Dorothy (nee Leonard) Heller; her husband, Lee Ripley; son-in-law, Todd Strait; sisters-in-law, Wanda Heller and Mary Herbert; brothers-in-law, Harry Meek and Jim Herbert. She leaves behind a large family to cherish her memory, including her four children, Pamela Ripley, Victoria (Rick) Strait-Munns, Michael (Jeanette Ripley, and Kathy (Michael) Hathaway; grandchildren, Christa (Rob) McNamee, Ashley (Joshua) Manigoe, Valerie (Joshua) Alt, Samantha (Brad) Wilson, Elizabeth (Dan) Randall, Joshua (Emily) Ripley, Dane Ripley, Kaitlyn Hathaway, and Nathan Hathaway; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Luke, Todd, Owen, Phoebe, Wyatt, Korbin, Blake, Sophie, Seth, Nicole, Jarrod, Harper, Wiley and Bentley; siblings, Edna Meek and Duke Heller; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Anchor Baptist Church, 750 N. US 1, Oak Hill, Florida 32759 or Edgewater Animal Shelter, 605 Mango Tree Drive, Edgewater, Florida 32132.
