
Gail M. Stafford, age 82, of Gahanna, died early morning Friday, August 28, 2026, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and school teacher who impacted countless lives.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. Stafford, whom she married on December 16, 1978. Also survived by her children, Richard J. Stafford, Martinez, CA; Timothy (Maria) Roach, Chicago, IL; and Susan E. Stafford (Hesham Abdallah), Westerville; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Karen (Dave) Hedden, and Lorna Stafford, both of Westerville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Penelope Scott, in 2014; and by her parents, George and Hazel (Moore) Minnich.
Gail received her Master’s Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught at Westgate, Clearbrook, East Linden, and McGuffey.
She enjoyed sewing and created and sold clothing for American Girl Dolls, as well as attended craft shows around the area. Member of the former Pizazz Gift Shop co-op in Worthington.
Gail and Ken loved to travel, especially in Europe and Eastern Europe, visiting locations such as Poland, Turkey, and Russia. Of particular enjoyment was a trip down the Volga River and a visit to beautiful St. Petersburg. They also experienced wonderful cruises.
Hiking, walking in the woods, and skiing were other passions, along with experiencing wines in Northeastern Ohio and in Napa Valley. A crisp glass of Chardonnay was a special favorite of Gail.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where friends may call following the service until 3:00 P.M. Interment later at Mifflin Cemetery.
