

She was born August 5, 1941 in Glade Spring, Virginia to the late Barton Grey and Elizabeth Norris Sheffield. One of ten children, she is preceded in death by her brothers Frank Sheffield, Carl Sheffield, Bill Sheffield and Jim Sheffield; sisters Martha Farris, Betty Jane Cox, Jo Sexton and Ann Henderson; and brothers-in-law Steven Kaser and Dennis Kaser.
Georgia graduated from Glade Spring High School in 1958 and later moved to Columbus, Ohio to live with her sister. While working at IGA grocery, she met John W. Kaser, her caring and devoted husband of 65 years. She focused on raising her two children, Jeffrey and Kimberly, and later worked part-time as a cashier at several local grocery stores including Ben’s Gateway Market, Meijer, and others.
Georgia was known for spoiling her grandchildren with her “Mama’s waffles” loaded with butter and syrup. Later in life, she loved watching the birds through her window and always had a special place in her heart for owls. Georgia always had multiple word search books stacked near her favorite spot on the couch. She will be fondly remembered for straws in her cans of soda, Little Debbie snack cakes, and having M&M’s and cashews for family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Georgia is survived by her children Jeffrey (Valerie) Kaser and Kimberly (Buddy) Allen; as well as her 4 grandchildren, McKenna (Josh) Ryan, Lindsay (Griffin) Jones, Erin Allen and Cameron Allen; sister Mary Grey Davenport; her special niece Shirley McGowen; sisters-in-law Sharon Kaser and Nancy (Kent) Taylor; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast Funeral Home in Gahanna, Ohio. Georgia’s funeral service will be held following the visitation, beginning at 1:00pm. Services will conclude with interment at Northlawn Memory Gardens in Westerville, Ohio.
