

Buron Glen Boyter, 88 of New Albany, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening on July 28th. He was a proud and devoted veteran of the United States Air Force, loving Father, Grandfather and great Grandfather.
He was born on August 30, 1937 in Ida, Louisiana. Glen answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the US Air Force where he proudly served for 20 years. He then worked for and retired from Marathon Oil Company after 15 years.
In his free time, Glen loved to fish, play poker, watch LSU football every week and most of all, spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Glen was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Deirdre “Patricia” Boyter. He is survived by sister, Sandy Philips Boyter and brother, Paul Boyter, his children, Gary Boyter, Donna and husband Nick Akins, Paul and wife Donna Boyter; grandchildren, Matthew Akins and wife Natalie, Christopher Akins and wife Ariel, Michelle Harville, Patrick Boyter, and Luke Boyter and wife Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Ashlea Boyter. Glen also had 5 great grandchildren.
The world is a better place because he was in it. And the hole he leaves behind in our hearts is matched only by the pride we feel for the man he was.
Our family would like to give a Special thank you to Smiths Mill Health Campus staff for the 5 years they dedicated to my Father. We appreciate the love and care you gave my Father.
Services will be held at Mc Leod Tabernacle, Atlanta Texas on Sunday, August 23 @ 2pm. Graveside burial following at Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery, Ida, Louisiana.
