For 37 beautiful years, Gregory was the devoted husband of Sandra (Willhite) Franks. His greatest pride was his family. He was a loving and proud father to Brittnee Hanby, Chris McLeod, Gregory Franks, and Kyle Franks, and a cherished father-in-law to Carey and Jamie. His grandchildren; Braylon, Bradley, Judith, Athena, and Ares were the light of his life. Becoming a grandfather was one of his greatest joys, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He was especially blessed to meet his newborn grandson shortly before his passing. Gregory is also survived by his sister, Corrine Franks.
A man of many talents and passions, Gregory loved playing the guitar and was an amateur pilot. He had a lifelong appreciation for cars, proudly owning a 1923 T-Bucket and a Corvette. He enjoyed gardening and working with his hands.
Gregory owned and operated a detailing company with his sons, his belief was life is in the details. He was meticulous in his work and believed a job was never done until the customer said it was. He was a true role model and leader, he never knew a stranger and had the gift of gab. One of his favorite sayings was, “You were only a stranger until you said hi.”
