Ivadene O'Neill

Ivadene O’Neill, age 103, passed away at home on September 18, 2023. She was born on March 8, 1920 in Wilgus, Ohio to Jonas and Emma Payne. She married her high school sweetheart, Orin O’Neill in 1936, and shared many loving years with him until his passing.

A long time Gahanna resident, Ivadene enjoyed bowling (including Wii bowling in her later years), quilting, playing the Barrel Drum in a Kitchen Band, and spending time at the Gahanna Senior Center where she served as President for a few years. She also once served as the “Grand Marshall” in the Gahanna parade and was awarded Gahanna’s “Senior Citizen of the Year.”

In addition to her husband, Ivadene is preceded in death by her two brothers, her sister, and a granddaughter.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ruth (Roger) Hill; her son, Bill (Loretta); 5 grandchildren; numerous loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many other dear friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 2pm – 5pm at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43232. Ivadene’s funeral service will be held on Monday, September 25 at 1pm at the funeral home. Services will conclude with interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
