J. Frederick Schroeder

Preceded in death by his wife, Georgia, brother Don, sisters Jane and Clara “Sis”, dear niece Patty and stepdaughter Debbie Susil.

Survived by his brother, Bob; stepdaughters, Diane (Rick Crane) Cossin, Robin (Bruce) Dudley; grandchildren Angie (Mike) Platt, Matthew Cossin, Kelly Cossin, Jason Dudley, Steven (Ashley) Cossin and Sarah (Aaron) McKenzie; great-grandchildren Breana, Madison and Kayla Cossin, Austin Harrington, Cameron and Jayden Cossin; great-great granddaughter, Keilani and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Fred joined the U.S Army right out of high school, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He proudly retired as a sergeant after 22 years of service and began his career with Coca-Cola, where he worked until he retired in 1996.

Fred enjoyed boating, playing cards, time with family, winters in Florida, Vegas vacations, the Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 25 from 9:00am – 10:00am at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, with a funeral service beginning at 10:00am. Services will conclude with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43213.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Ridge Retirement Community Hospice, who the family thanks for their awesome care of Fred.
