James "Jim" Robert Bachman

James Robert “Jim” Bachman, age 93, of Gahanna, passed away at his home on Monday, July 17, 2023. He was born on May 19, 1930 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Victor and Mary (Krause) Bachman. Jim was a proud U.S. Air Force pilot for over 20 years. He loved woodworking and playing golf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen (Florence) Bachman; brother, Walter Bachman; and sister, Barbara Mutsch. Jim is survived by his children, Dale Bachman of Columbus, Steve (Marcia) Bachman of Westerville and Linda (Ken) Granville of Gahanna; grandchildren, Julie, Alyson, Kyle and Brad; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH where a memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service and inurnment with Air Force honors will be held 3:00 p.m. August 4, 2025 at Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Ave, Fort Myer, VA 22211.
