James E. Lytle passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Inn at Summit Trail, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Born in York, PA, on June 7, 1942, Jim was the youngest of four sons of the late John T. and Florence E. (Hagerman) Lytle.
Jim graduated from Boston University from the School of Business. After graduation, he was employed by Kraft Foodservice as a General Manager in Davenport, IA, and Cincinnati, OH. He later worked as a general manager for US Foodservice in Columbus, OH. He enjoyed golfing with family and friends. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Memorial Golf Tournament. Jim loved his dogs. Jim and his wife, Judy, rescued two greyhounds, Tuck and Ticket. This is where he found a passion for volunteering for Team Greyhound of Ohio. Jim and his family had many fond memories of the Jersey Shore, where they spent many mornings at the beach and evenings eating hard-shell crab.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy (nee Lutz); children Kathleen Daldowicz (Michael) of Dayton, Ohio; Jennifer Van Meter (Mark) of Seville, Ohio; Matthew Lytle (Sheri) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Josh, Amy, and Brian Daldowicz and Eric and Megan Van Meter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers John T. Lytle Jr., the Rev. Gerald Lytle, and William Lytle.
The family would like to thank Ellie Carpenter and the entire staff at the Inn at Summit Trail for their kind care and to Capital City Hospice.
