Jerry Clayton Condren

On January 12, 2024, our father and husband, Jerry Clayton Condren, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 82. He was born and raised in the small town of Lafayette, Ohio, where he helped his mother and father run the town filling station. As a child, Jerry enjoyed all kinds of sports, exploring the woods by his house (especially in the spring when the creek waters ran high) and nighttime raccoon hunting with his buddy and a spot light. Jerry graduated as valedictorian from Medina High School in 1959 and has attended his class reunions ever since. He was awarded a full sports and academic scholarship to Case Western Reserve University where he was a proud member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He later completed his graduate work at The Ohio State University and so became a lifelong Buckeye fan. Jerry worked as an electrical engineer for North American Aviation/Rockwell International for thirty years, designing control units for aircraft and missile systems. He was a long-time active member of Grace Baptist Church in Westerville, Ohio and more recently, Reynoldsburg Baptist Church. Jerry was a kind and loving husband and an attentive father. He was the kind of father who coached his son’s little league games and made his daughter feel like she was the most important girl in the world. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Rosalee Joseph Condren, his daughter Jodie Van Zwieten of Powell, Ohio, his son, Janson Condren of Sydney, Australia, and six grandchildren, Ellianna, Ethan, Lindey, Sophia, Jayden and Melia. He was predeceased by his first wife of 45 years, Judith (2010) and his beloved parents Florence (2006) and Clayton (1996).

Friends may call at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, Ohio on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 5-7pm. A funeral will be held at 11am on Thursday, January 18 at Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, 887 Rosehill Rd, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
