He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Vianna Middleton, daughter, Laura Nicholson, sister, Elizabeth Guisinger, and is survived by his wife, Norma (Klamfoth) Middleton, his son, Mark (Jill) Middleton, his sister, Jessie Morgan, his grandkids, Paige (Nathan), Jordan, Jessica (Dwight), Dustin, and Kayla.
John served in the Navy for four years in the 50s, during the Korean War. He retired from National Electric Coil in 1995 after over 40 years of employment. His work allowed him to travel the globe, coming home with trinkets and souvenirs for all.
John was a genuine, kind, humorous, and adventurous man who loved nature, fishing, and hunting. He was happiest outdoors surveying the birds at his bird feeders, wrangling snakes in his plentiful gardens, or watching Westerns in his favorite comfy chair. Many great fishing and camping trips were had with his good friends and family. He was known for his light hearted pranks, and silly experiences like sledding down his driveway to pick up the mail. John's home was always open to any who would come by, and he would welcome anyone with open arms.
He was loved by all people whom he came across, and his impact on his family and friends was enormous. His nickname, "Honest John", was both truthful and cheeky, and he will be fondly remembered for his heart and spirit.
Friends may gather at Schoedinger Northeast (1051 E. Johnstown Rd.) on Wednesday, January 10, from 3PM-6PM. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 6PM. Entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast.
