
Jack Schmidt, 79, passed away peacefully at home on February 23, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born in Kenton, Ohio to John E. and Bertha C. Schmidt, who predeceased him along with his sister Joan Longbrake.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Becky, and 2 daughters, Jana, and Katie (David) Roeger. He also has 2 granddaughters whom he loved beyond words, Lorelei and Quinn Roeger. Also surviving is his sister, Judy Cross, of Kenton along with multiple nephews and nieces, and his sister-in-law Charlene (James) Evans of Port Huron, MI along with a niece.
He graduated from Kenton High School in 1964 and The Ohio State University in 1974. He also served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was truly talented cabinet maker and woodworker who started and ran his own business for over 50 years. He built 2 beautiful homes for his family through the years as well as created numerous custom pieces for his customers.
It was his wish to be cremated and that there be no formal services. Jack loved his family without question and will be missed every day.
