It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph E Bisang who passed away on February 5, 2024. Born on June 20, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio, Joe or Dodo, as he was fondly known, graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1962 and served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Ohio National Guard.
Joe spent time as a tool and die maker before becoming a beloved bus driver for Gahanna Jefferson Schools where he worked for over 10 years and was affectionately known as the “candy man.”
For many years, Joe enjoyed life as a pilot (private and instrument rated), a passion that combined his love for flight and adventure. Also known for his love of motorcycles, Jan’s cooking, and his cat Vinny, Joe was a man who never met a stranger and always lived life to the fullest. Joe could always be found with a smile on his face, a wink, and a joke, while nothing made him happier than an airplane or a pretty woman.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Dalrymple (Tammie), sister Charma Buttgen (Robert), brother Mark Bisang (Janell), grandchildren Abbie Hanson (Cole), Noah Dalrymple, Chloe Dalrymple, one great-grandchild (Ezra Hanson), a niece Nicole Jaburek (Eric), a great nephew, and a great niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A Bisang and Marie Therese Bisang, and two of his beloved cats, Sundance and BJ.
Joe will be remembered for his jovial spirit, his love for life, and his unwavering positivity. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Life Church where Joe was a dedicated member of the congregation. http://www.faithlifechurch.org/giving" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.faithlifechurch.org/giving (http://www.faithlifechurch.org/giving).
