Joyce Peters, 93, of Powell, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 25, 2026. She was born on March 5, 1933, in Stearns KY, to the late Claude and Elsie (Lay) Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Peters; and her brothers, Harold (Adena) Ball and William Ball.
Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Sunbury, Ohio for over 50 years. She was an avid reader, and especially loved her Bibles. She loved children, and babysat for many years. Joyce also loved all kinds of animals. Most of all she loved her family, and cherished each moment she got to spend with them.
Joyce will be greatly missed by her son, John (Heather) Peters; grandchildren, Lauren Peters and Jack Peters; and numerous extended family and close family friends.
Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, US, on August 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral will take place at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, US, on August 4, 2026, at 11:00 am with an internment at Fairview Memorial Park to follow.
