Judith Ann Cannon Harley died September 20, 2022. She was born to Thomas and Nancy Cannon of Ashley, PA, on February 17, 1943. She had two brothers, Tom and Gerry. She loved them both dearly and joked that it was hard to believe they all grew up in the same house. Three more different siblings you’ll never find; when they all told the same family story, the only thing that matched was the address.
Judy married the love of her life, Jimmy, on September 16, 1967. Although their time together was short, it made a lasting impression and she never remarried. She was so very happy and loved when she was with him that she didn’t believe it could happen twice. She always felt him with her, but especially when there was a warm breeze in spring.
Judy had one daughter, Kathleen, who counted her as a mother, friend, and trusted confidant. While nervous in the beginning, and for good reason, she grew to love Kate’s husband Marc wholeheartedly. Judy said she trusted Marc with everything, and Marc is still confused by it.
Judy had 3 grandchildren, Liza, Gracey, and James that she loved unconditionally. She was proud of, literally, everything they did. Except singing, she told the girls they needed to move on, but James was tolerable. She started traditions with them we hope will continue for generations.
Judy made people comfortable with her warmth, that’s why there are so many stories of good times with her. She made it easy to laugh, sing, rant, and just be yourself. Judy loved her sisters-in-law like they were her sisters and her nieces and nephews like they were her own. And of course, she counted friends as family.
Thanks so much for all the prayers, good thoughts and wishes, and support. She was overwhelmed; she said “her cup runeth over.”
And, to the online Scrabble world, you’re all just playing for second best now.
Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home.
