Julia B. Gruber

Julia B. Gruber, age 86, passed away on Monday, March 31st, 2025. Julia was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania on June 9th, 1938, to Herbert and Julia Schubert. Julia spent her time working mostly as a stay-at-home mother, Anderson Glass, and Montell.

Julia above all was a loving mother & grandmother. She found pleasure in the simple things in life. She loved birds & wildlife, working in her garden, cooking, baking and crafting. She also dearly loved their beloved rescue dog “Lizzy.”

Julia also found passions in art, shopping at thrift stores, garage sales, finding deals at stores and antique hunting. She also took great pride in being an Elder at her church in the 70's.

Julia was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Julia is survived by her daughters, Julie (Randy) Smith and Shari (Dana) Eidens; Grandchildren, Stephanie (Eric) Yoder, Matthew (Sabrina) Smith, Timothy (Sydney) Eidens, and Thomas (Allison) Eidens, and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Hendricks, and Cheryl (Rege) Kolling. She was an aunt and a great aunt.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Ray Gruber of 65 years; both of her parents, and brother-in-laws, Matthew Gruber Jr. & Donald Hendricks.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for all memorial donations to be made to local animal shelters or American Red Cross in Julia’s honor.
