Juliana M. Secrist

Juliana Marie Secrist passed peacefully on January 5, 2024. Juliana was born on August 24, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Joseph and Judith Laufersweiler (Wolfe). Juliana’s family moved to Ohio in 1963. She is a 1980 graduate of Fairmont West High and a proud graduate of the University of Dayton, 1984. Juliana married James “Jim” Richard Secrist on October 5, 1997, and shared twenty-six happy years. The Secrist family moved to Gahanna, Ohio, in 2004. Juliana worked for the Department of Defense in Newark, Ohio, and the Defense Supply Center in Columbus as a contracting officer. She was an active member of Saint Matthews Church. Our Juliana “Jules” is deeply missed by her family and wonderful friends. She is survived by her husband James; her mother Judith; daughter Hannah; brother Mark; sister-in-law Barbara; and outstanding nephews, cousins, and aunts.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 12pm-3pm at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle Church on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 10:30am. Services will conclude with inurnment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.
