

Larry Dean Edgar, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on October 23, 1943, in Summersfield, Ohio, to Marvin Dean and Irene (Finley) Edgar, Larry lived a life marked by faith, family, and service.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Lee Edgar, Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Barb Edgar; his loving daughters, Shannon (Jim) Vaughn, Michelle (Mike) Dorsey, and Amy (Chris) Absten; his cherished sister, Pam (Mike) Flood; his beloved grandchildren, Bill Rice, Alexis (Trevor) Miller, Chris (Ellie) Absten, Megan Dorsey, and Chase Dorsey; and his precious great-grandson, Rhett Miller.
A proud veteran, Larry honorably served in the Army from 1961 through 1964. Upon his return, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter.
Larry was a man of deep faith, finding solace and strength in his relationship with the Lord. His unwavering kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. A skilled woodworker, Larry found joy in crafting beautiful pieces and sharing his faith with others. He dedicated his career to American Electric Power, held many roles, contributing his skills and expertise to the company.
Larry's legacy extends beyond his accomplishments. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his warm smile, and his unwavering love for his family. He was a true inspiration, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A service to honor Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 East Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. A visitation will follow from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Larry's memory.
