Leo "Lee" Smith

Lee Smith was born on October 3, 1940 in Mansfield, Ohio to Gerald and Esther Smith. The first of five children, he enjoyed the pleasures of growing up in the country. Lee attended The Ohio State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Upon graduation, he began a forty-year career as a pharmacist for both local stores and national chains.

Lee married Carole Diane Williams in 1963 and remained a devoted family man until the end. His sons Brian and Mark were both born within the next decade. Throughout his life, Lee’s favorite activities were golf, fishing, and hunting. They were also a means through which he built deep friendships. Among his friends, he was known as someone who liked to joke around and encourage others to enjoy life.

Lee is survived by one brother, two sisters, his wife, two children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In 2022, Lee recommitted his life to Christ and was baptized.

Calling hours will be held at Jersey Church on Saturday, June 13 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Jersey Church, 13260 Morse Rd SW, New Albany, OH.
