Lois Ann (Rey) Bibart died on September 18, 2024 after a several-years struggle with dementia, and she now rests in peace in her eternal home in heaven. Lois was born in Newark, Ohio on June 24, 1942 to Leo Paul and Frances (Humphrey) Rey. Her father, who was killed in a December 1944 WWII battle in France, always had a special place in her heart and mind throughout her entire life. After graduating from Newark Senior High School in 1960, Lois attended the Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. Shortly after graduation in 1963, Lois and Richard (Dick) Bibart were married, and they moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts while Dick finished his final year of college. Following Dick’s graduation, they moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Dick, attended law school. Except for a brief period after having their first child, Laurie, in December 1964, Lois worked as a nurse in Ann Arbor until Dick’s graduation in December 1966. After graduation, they returned to Columbus, and from that point on Lois devoted her life to their growing family and to a number of volunteer organizations, including Junior League and Childhood League. Lois is famous for her world class needlepointing skills and for making more than 100 needlepointed Christmas ornaments for the two Christmas trees she wanted in her home every year. Lois is survived by Dick, her husband of 61 years, and by their incredible and beautiful children, grandchildren and great grandchild: Laurie (Mike) Gillam of Galena, Ohio and their children Abigail and Zachary; Jennifer (Todd) Dunsizer of Upper Arlington, Ohio and their children, Alyssa, Anna and James; Kristen (Dan) McCabe of Newport, Kentucky and Dan’s son Dominic; Ted (Nkechi Iwomi) Bibart of Dublin, Ohio and their son Bo, their daughters Ari and Isla, and Ted’s daughter Isabella (Avi) Kaufman; and great granddaughter, Rosalina Kaufman.
