was born in Pittsburgh, Pa on Dec 6, 1949 to Francis(Frank) Preusser and Agnes Lapacik.
Madelyn graduated from Keystone Oaks High School in 1968.
Madelyn married her devoted husband, Robert A Beck (Bob) on June 20, 1970. They were
close to celebrating 55 years married and spending almost 60 years together. They went on to
have one daughter, Tara Lynn, born March 24, 1976.
She worked for North Central Mental Health as an office manager over 20 years. The last 5
years she lightly retired to continue working for them as a contractual employee.
Her favorite hobby was shopping, especially taking Tara and Breliana. She was also passionate
about reading. She always had her nose in a book.
There was never a place that she left without making new friends. Her coworkers loved her.
Her daughter’s friends adored her, and strangers warmly remember her.
Her favorite memories were the year’s of her daughter’s dance and cheerleading. She was
always her daughter’s biggest cheerleader in every step of life. Another favorite memory was
her daughter’s wedding on Jan 2, 2010, where she gained a whole new family including 2
automatic grandkids in Steven and Tiffany. She also never missed a soccer or volleyball game
for Breliana. She was a doting grandma for sure. Christmas was also a favorite time of the year
with many traditions held with family and friends.
She was proud of her beloved husband’s successful career as a Pharmacist. They spent many
many cruises and travel abroad visiting the world, acquiring many close and new friends a long
the way. The countless memories Bob and Maddy shared together, and with family and
friends, will be cherished and held close in our hearts.
“Sunshine” was Bob’s nickname for her. That warmth will live on in her memory.
Madelyn was a survivor of Ovarian/Fallopian cancer twice. In recent years she suffered heart
complications from the treatments. A special thank to Cleveland Clinic for performing a miracle
and giving us more time.
Spouse Robert A Beck married for 55 years this June, together for almost 60 years.
Daughter Tara Lynn Beck Gyke daughter (Christopher Gyke husband) daughter Breliana Gyke,
