Margaret (“Marty”) Yacobozzi (née Higgins) passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, at her home surrounded by her husband of 55 years and their two sons. Marty was born in Lorain, Ohio in 1949. She attended Ohio State University and graduated from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Marty was a devoted wife to Dennis, a dedicated mother, and doting grandmother. Marty was strong, courageous, and empathetic. She loved helping others and contributed her time volunteering at the OhioHealth Hospice House (formerly Kobacker House), the Mt. Carmel Patient and Family Advocacy Committee, and the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM). She was a founding member of the Bereavement Committee at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westerville, where she continued to volunteer since its founding 25 years ago. Her community engagement and volunteer spirit extended throughout her lifetime, and were always directed toward helping those in need, both spiritually and financially.
Marty was part of the administrative staff of the Ohio Democratic Party under the Celeste Administration where she acted as a liaison with the Ohio Legislature. She made notable contributions as a liaison with the John Glenn for President Committee. Marty was an integral part of the founding and success of United American Capital Corporation.
