Marian Smith

Marian Smith, 90, of Blacklick, Ohio passed away on August 19, 2022. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on December 3, 1931 to Alvin and Emilie Joost. In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband Ken Smith and niece Sandy Eberle.

In her free time, Marian enjoyed creating beautiful quilts. In addition to her quilt work, Marian will be remembered for her excellent cooking skills, her love of antique stores, and her interest in carousel horses. She was also an avid reader of mystery novels. Marian was also dedicated to her education; she completed her Associate Degree in Financial Management Technology gradually over several years.

Marian worked at Bank One for over 20 years, from which she retired. She attended numerous band organ rallies with her husband Ken, and enjoyed his live steam locomotive and movie hobbies.

Marian will be greatly missed by her daughter, Susan Smith; brother, Wilbur Joost (wife Irene); sister Connie Roehrig (husband Art); and surviving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3-5pm at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH where a funeral service will immediately follow at 5pm.
