Marianne was a woman of remarkable strength, determination and resilience. Becoming a single mother when her daughter was just two years old, she worked tirelessly - often holding two jobs - to provide for her and her daughter. Her sacrifices and unwavering work ethic reflected her love and commitment for whom she cared.
Throughout her career, Marianne embraced many roles, but there were two she was most proud. She was a flight attendant for Executive Jet where her adventurous spirit and love of travel flourished. She relished telling the stories of when she flew with Reverend Billy Graham and Elton John.
Marianne later proudly served as a deputy sheriff with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, overseeing security at Eastland and Westland malls. No shoplifter could outsmart or outrun this petite, Italian law enforcer. She loved every minute of her years as a sheriff.
Retirement opened the door to another passion. Marianne became an antique dealer with an extraordinary eye for beauty and craftsmanship. Her taste was impeccable and there was no decorating challenge she could not overcome. She was beautiful and surrounded herself with beautiful things as well. This gift was admired by everyone who knew her.
Marianne found love and intrigue when she married Robert Kauffman. Together they build a life full of friends, adventure and unforgettable travels around the world. Italy held a special place in their hearts, and many of their trips were shared with her daughter, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Her favorite things to do were to take her granddaughter, Merritt, shopping and to steak houses, and to cook and have long chats about life at OSU and the Lord with her grandson, Declan. Other hobbies included dancing, playing darts and euchre, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeye Basketball team.
Above all, Marianne will be remembered for her strength, independent spirit, and the love she shared with her family. During her final months, she was surrounded by the constant presence of her daughter, Meredith, whose unwavering love and devotion never left her side. Their final expressions of love are a lasting testament to the bond they shared.
Marianne is preceded in death by her husband, Robert. She is survived by her daughter, Meredith; son-in-law Adam Roslovic; and her favorite people on earth, her grandchildren, Merritt and Declan; and many friends and acquaintances whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Cranberry Park skilled nurses and aides and the Suncrest and Zusman hospice caregivers who provided comfort and dignity during Marianne’s final days.
Although our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing Marianne’s suffering has ended. She is now dancing in heaven, reuniting with loved ones and forever carried in the hearts of those who loved her.
