Mary Ann Gibson

She received her Bachelor’s degree at Columbus Business University and studied accounting. In 1973 she started working at Ernst & Young LLP as a Tax Secretary. Where she made many friends that became like family. She worked there for 48 years before retiring in 2021.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, doing crafts, listening to music, playing board & card games, and loved shopping! She loved spending time with family & friends. She was a Ohio State Buckeyes fan and tried to watch every game. Her all-time favorite movie was “Gone With The Wind.” She loved to joke around with people and make them laugh. Anyone who knew her will remember her infectious smile.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Charles Michael Olshawsky; and step-daughter Sonya Richardt.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Andria Castro; her favorite son-in-law Rafael Castro; stepdaughter Ivy Young; step-son Rusty Gibson; grandson Logan Castro; step-grandson Sebastian Young; step-granddaughters Ava Young, Hannah Richardt, and Sophia Richardt; brother Martin Olshawsky; many cousins, friends, and her 2 cats Maggie & Penny.

Mary’s funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 11, at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, beginning at 4pm. Visitation will take place after the service from 5pm-7pm. Mary will be laid to rest on Wednesday, October 12 at 12pm at Senecaville Cemetery in Senecaville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund in her name.
