

Mary is survived by her daughters, Sandy Pelfrey, Tina Graham (Alisa Raifsnider), Michelle Ashley (Glenn), and niece, Susie Clifford (Kenny Quinn) as well as her grandchildren, Andrea Marriott (Dallas Dahms), Nick Pelfrey (Anastasia), Bobbi Reynolds, Marissa Williams (Robert), Calvin Ashley, Matthew Clifford, great grandson, Quinton Reynolds, and son-in-Law Steve Hamill. She is also survived by her sister, Bobby Gierlach, brother, David Swisher and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was a hard-working, strong, independent woman who worked for the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation for 40+ years as the Manager of Key Punch operators. She was a single mom who raised 5 daughters virtually on her own, while instilling strong morals and independence in her daughters. She was funny, outgoing and often referred to as ornery. She loved to shop, bowl, watch Hallmark Christmas movies, HGTV, sports of any kind and all Disney movies. Above all other activities, Mary loved to crochet and participate in Craft Shows!!
Mary was preceded in death by her daughters, Lisa M. Hamill, Paula J. Owens and granddaughter, Tonia Chester, as well as her parents, Iris G. Smith, Ralph Swisher, sister, Margaret Clifford, brothers, Jack Swisher, James Swisher, Danny Swisher, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
To honor Mary’s wishes, there will be a small service with casual dress at the Green Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 1000 Greenlawn Avenue, Columbus Ohio on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:00am.
