

Mrs. Mary Jane Trufant (née Bruce), age 86, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, in Blacklick, Ohio. Born on July 8, 1940, in New York City, New York, Mary lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, family, and career.
Throughout her life, Mary resided in various states across the country, including Tennessee (Memphis), Maryland (Lexington Park), Texas (Corpus Christi), Illinois (Round Lake Beach), Florida (Pensacola), Missouri (St. Louis), and finally Ohio (Blacklick). With each move, she embraced new opportunities and challenges with grace and resilience.
Mary began her professional journey at the FBI, where she contributed to the agency’s work before dedicating herself to raising her family. Later in life, she resumed her career with the state of Ohio and eventually at The Ohio State University. Her dedication to her work was matched by her unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
A devout Catholic, Mary found spiritual strength and community at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Gahanna, Ohio. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life and a source of inspiration for those around her.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Tom Trufant; her brother, Dan; her cousin, Christine Cuilla; all four of her children and their families; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Mary’s memory will be treasured by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
