Michael J. Free

Preceded in death by his mother Virginia (Pursell) Free, father Raymond, and his beloved pup, Cory.

He is survived by his wife, Pama (Cheek) Free; son, Andrew Free and wife Mia of San Diego, CA; daughter, Elizabeth (Free) Faucett and husband Jerry of Denham Springs, LA. Michael and Pam met in college and were married for 53 loving years. Their careers took them all over the United States, but eventually settled in Columbus, OH with their children. Mike graduated from Tippecanoe High School (Tipp City, OH) and attended Miami (OH) University for undergrad and Xavier University for his Masters. He loved his family, and enjoyed family vacations to Myrtle Beach in the spring and summer, and their winter ski trips out west. His main hobby was golf, and he joined various golf leagues around Columbus. He had a career of over 30 years at Western Electric/AT&T/Bell Labs and retired in 2001 as a Technical Manager. After retirement, he stayed busy as a volunteer at both the Columbus Airport Golf Course, and the New Albany Links Golf Course.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2pm Saturday, May 13th 2023 at Schoedinger Funeral Home, located at 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH.
