Michael W. Scheerer

Michael was born in Bucyrus, Ohio, in 1947. In 1975, he married Carol and became a devoted father to Tina Marie Spano, Coley, and Michael Martin Spano.

A proud Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Michael served his country with courage and honor. To his family, he was not only an American hero, but their personal hero as well.

Michael dedicated 17 years of service as a Columbus police officer and later worked at the courthouse in Columbus. He also made a significant impact throughout his career in retail loss prevention.

Above all, Michael treasured his family. He helped raise his grandchildren, Anthony Michael, Nicholas, Mario, and Hannah Marie, and few things brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Michael is survived by his children, Tina Marie Spano, Coley, and Michael Martin Spano; his sons-in-law, Jerry Coley and Charlie Dale Glaze; his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other loving family and friends.

No services will be held at this time.

Michael will be remembered for his courage, his dedication to serving others, and, most of all, the love and devotion he had for his family.
