

Olaf is survived by his wife and friend of forty five years, Jill Anderson. He is also survived by his sister, Kristine (Tim) Stubbers and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his close friends, Butch Roller and Bruce Grundy.
Olaf was born in Berlin, Germany on September 12, 1941. He and his courageous parents, Ilse and Walter, along with his sister immigrated to the United States in 1957 settling in Cincinnati. He was extremely proud to become a naturalized United States citizen.
In 1962 Olaf entered the US Air Force and was primarily based in Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois and Hunter Air Force Base in Georgia. He specialized in aircraft electrical repair. He was honored to serve until his discharge in 1966.
Olaf enjoyed photography, reading and playing hand ball and golf. He was well traveled. He visited all of the U.S. states except one, North Dakota. He also enjoyed international travel and was especially fond of his and Jill’s visit to Scotland.
Olaf wished that in lieu of a memorial service, family and friends would attend a light hearted get together to celebrate his life. This celebration will be held at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast Funeral Home (1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230) on February 10 at noon. A light lunch will be served.
If desired, a donation may be made to the Salvation Army.
