Patricia Heughebart

Patty was born on October 5, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, to J.D. Hall and Marie Loschiavo Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tom Hall; her daughter, Amy Christman; and Amy's husband Chris Christman.

Patty leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children: Laura Futral (Gary Futral), Terri Behnen, Michael Behnen (Katherine Behnen), and David Behnen (Amy Behnen). She was also blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

More than anything, Patty loved people. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel welcomed, accepted, and loved. Her heart and home were always open, and over the years she lovingly "adopted" countless additional children, grandchildren, and friends who became family. Her chosen family was large, and she treasured every one of them.

Patty’s happy place was the beach, especially Topsail Island, North Carolina. She found peace walking along the shoreline searching for shark teeth, listening to the waves, and enjoying the beauty of the ocean. Those moments brought her great happiness and created treasured memories for those fortunate enough to share them with her.

Throughout her life, Patty dedicated herself to helping others. Her career included work as a dental receptionist and an EMT before she ultimately retired from the State of Ohio, where she served in Emergency Management. No matter the role, she brought compassion, determination, and a willingness to serve those around her.

Patty had a passion for puzzles, animals, especially horses and dogs, and she was always eager to begin her next creative project. Whether it was a new craft, hobby, or artistic endeavor, she immersed herself completely and approached it with enthusiasm. She was also known for her love of Ford Mustangs and enjoyed driving them with the same spirited energy that characterized her life. She was proudly a Ford and Mustang lady through and through.

Patty will be remembered for her generous heart, adventurous spirit, fierce love for family, and ability to make everyone around her feel they belonged. Her legacy lives on not only through her children and generations of descendants but also through the countless lives she touched with kindness, acceptance, laughter, and love.

Visitation and Service Information

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patty’s life and pay their respects at one of two visitation opportunities being held in locations that were meaningful to her and her family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230.

A second visitation and burial service will be held in Richmond, Indiana, on October 3, 2026. Additional details regarding the Richmond service will be shared once finalized.

Because Patty’s family and friends are spread between Central Ohio and Eastern Indiana, these gatherings are being offered to provide loved ones with an opportunity to honor her memory closer to home. Family members encourage friends and loved ones to attend whichever service is most convenient for them, knowing that both gatherings are intended to celebrate the same remarkable life and legacy.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared will endure forever.
