Paul R. Janicki, 91, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by his children. Born on March 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, Paul was the beloved son of Paul and Katherine Janicki, who preceded him in death.
Paul lived a life defined by devotion—to his family, to his work, and to the many friendships he formed along the way. He married the love of his life, Louella Janicki, on December 31, 1959. Together they built a marriage grounded in loyalty, laughter, and daily companionship. Louella passed away on July 28, 2025. Their enduring partnership was an inspiration to all who knew them, and they were rarely seen apart—especially on their cherished daily walks, holding hands.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Janicki. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jill (Patrick) White, Paul (Kathryn) Janicki, and Christine (Mike) Ogle. Paul was a proud and devoted grandfather to Chelsea White, Julia Daddezio, Paul Janicki IV, Nathan Janicki, Christopher Ogle, and Mason Ogle. His family was the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater joy than time spent together.
Over the course of his professional life, Paul served in leadership roles at Elmhurst Hospital, SmithKline, and the Cleveland Clinic, later continuing his work through consulting. He was respected not only for his knowledge and steady leadership, but for his integrity and thoughtful approach to every challenge.
Outside of work, Paul embraced life fully and energetically. He was an avid skier, enjoying both water and snow skiing with enthusiasm well into his later years. He loved sports of all kinds and brought a competitive spirit—especially to card games with friends and family, where he was known to be fiercely focused and delightfully determined. Whether at home in Sandusky, Ohio, or enjoying retirement days in North Fort Myers, Florida, Paul remained active and engaged.
Those who met Paul were immediately drawn to his kind and generous demeanor. He had a natural ability to make others feel welcome and valued, and he formed lasting friendships wherever he went. His warmth, steady presence, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on countless lives.
Paul’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, friendship, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
