Rae Pollina

Rae M Pollina was born in Columbus, Ohio January 29, 1936 and passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 at her home at Inniswood Village in Westerville, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Edith Clifton, sisters Mary Virginia Roese, Edna Reinkens, brother James Clifton, cousin William Reinkens, niece Karen Wells, and her beloved husband Joseph A. Pollina Jr.

A graduate of Linden McKinley class of 1954, Rae went on to clerk for Nationwide Insurance and retired as an executive corporate secretary for Nationwide Advisory Services.

A long time member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Rae served in many church leadership positions including head usher, treasurer and fundraiser. Her hospitality skills were always above and beyond, and she will be fondly remembered for her service to others in many different capacities.

Survived by children Tony (Karla) Pollina, Frances Pollina, and John Pollina. Grandchildren Gregory (Carrie) Pollina, Rachel (Rick) Watts, Mario (Olivia) Pollina, Michael Savage, and Elizabeth Caley. Eleven great grandchildren.

Niece Julie Clifton, nephew Michael (Mary) Lombardo, nephew Joseph (Julie) Lombardo, nephew Richard Roese, nephew David (Terry) Roese, nephew Bruce (Terry) Roese, nephew Keith Roese, and niece Staci Clifton. Multiple grand-nieces and nephews. Last but certainly not least her beloved cat Sophie, who she loved more than anything else.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 5100 Karl Road, Columbus, OH 43229, beginning at 4:00pm. Reverend Jennifer Casto, officiating.
