

Richard E. Conrad of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, with his daughter Kathy at his side. Richard was born on November 24, 1931, in Columbus, OH. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
Richard graduated from Mifflin High School in 1949, married his high-school sweetheart Eleanor in 1950, and retired early from Watkins Printing in 1989. He was an avid fisherman and was the founder of the Gahanna Bass Anglers. He was also a licensed pilot for many years - flying was what he loved most. He made his final flight on his 90th birthday.
In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting, feeding the squirrels and rabbits, spending time with neighbors Jeff and Erika, and going to lunch with his friends John, Bud, Dan, and Eddie.
Richard is survived by his daughter and fulltime caretaker for the last six years, Kathy; sons Mike and Bernie; daughter Ann; 12 Grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Elena, Constance and Conrad.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor M. Conrad; parents Bernard and Dorothy Conrad; brother Harry; sister Mary Ellen; son Donald; grandchildren Shawna Hunter and Kenneth Wellman; and great grandson Cavin Hunter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home, 1051 E Johnstown Road, Gahanna, OH 43230, with Richard’s memorial service beginning at 1:00pm.
