Richard R Largmann

He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on October 26, 1930. Dick married his true love, Marie, on July 5, 1953. The two resided in Jersey City until 1962 when Dick was transferred from Kearny, New Jersey to Columbus, Ohio, with Western Electric. Dick lived in Columbus for the remainder of his life. He became a Buckeye through and through.

Dick was always the guiding light of his family. Fatherless at the age of sixteen, Dick became the father figure for his seven brothers and sisters. He was especially close to one sister, Geraldine, who recently passed this past May. Dick, the oldest of the eight children, was the last of all to pass on to the glory of God. Throughout his 95 years, he led a remarkable life.

Dick is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marie, and children, Robert (Merrie) and Donna (Tom). He is also survived by six grandchildren, Brian (Ruth), Christopher (Chad), Angela (Kevin), Robert (Danetta), and Marc (Sara); eight great-grandchildren, Addie, Owen, Chase, Elana, Zoey, Margaret, Joseph, and Lucy. Dick has many nieces and nephews in many places, but none so special as Cas and Melissa.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Hyman and Martha (McCann) Largmann, his siblings, Adolph Largmann, Barbara (Don) Brady, Roy (Linda – living) Largmann, Ronnie (Pat) Largmann, Dolores “Sis” (Matty) Scifo, Harry “Hap” (Beverly) Largmann, and his dearest sister, Geraldine (Cas) Wieszczek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 807 Havens Corner Road. Fr. Walter Tuscano, Celebrant. Private inurnment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
