Robert W Kelley Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Georgia N. Kelley; children and their spouses, Richard and Patti Kelley, Blacklick; Laura and Gary Rice, Gahanna; Dennis and Nancy Kelley, North Canton, OH; and Robert and Rebecca Kelley Jr., Grove City; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas (Mindy) Kelley, Leah (Christopher) Hanes, Natasha Kelley, Christina (Eric) Wan, Erin (Michael) El Koubi, Natalya Kelley, Sarah (David) Braun, Jennifer (Robert) Tully, Andrew Kelley, David (Brittany Allison) Kelley and Julia (Brandon) Houpt and 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by mother and father, Guy and Helen Kelley, brothers Ray, Roy, Guy, and sisters Phyllis and Ruth.

Robert was a longtime police officer, beginning in1965 in Gahanna, retiring as Chief in 1994. Following retirement, he served as a former Gahanna City Council Member. A big family man, he loved fishing and hunting and especially spending time at Five Mile Lake in Canada. He also loved golfing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his grandchildren’s dogs.

Friends may call at the Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 26, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 27, 2026. Interment to follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
