Bob was born May 31, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Doris Jean (Arick) and Donald G. Weersing. Bob is survived by his sons, Mark Weersing (Cindy) and Matthew Garcia; grandchildren Aaron Weersing, Meagan Weersing, and Hannah Debra Garcia; brothers Gary, Eric and Carl; sister Donna; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Bob graduated from New Albany High School in 1966. He was a Freemason and lifetime NRA member. He retired after 25 years at COTA, serving the Columbus community as a bus driver. During that time, he made many friends, memories, and stories. Bob always had a variety of hobbies and activities that he loved to do, including boating, fishing, RVing, the Races and traveling to the Family reunions. Bob was a "tinkerer" - he was known for taking things apart… and not always getting them back together. That part improved as he got older! Bob enjoyed shortwave radios, scanners, computers, target shooting and guns, reading, movies, “YouTubing” and taking care of his birds. Bob was a "debater," always opinionated but very knowledgeable on various topics. If Bob didn't know, he would find out. Above all else, his favorite thing to do was spending time with his family and friends. He liked to say, "are we having fun yet?" If it wasn't fun, Bob didn't want to do it! He most especially enjoyed messing with the "crummy kids" and they will tell you he did it well!
Bob was a devoted father, grandpa, uncle, brother and friend and will be greatly missed.
