Rowan was born July 25, 2024 weighing 1lb 14.3oz. Although his life on earth was far too short, the eight days he spent here were full of love and memories we will hold for a lifetime. He was our miracle and so perfect in every way. Rowan’s strongest traits that were frequently commented on were his long fingers, big feet, and his full head of blonde hair. His favorite things to do were snuggling with mommy and daddy and being the boss of everything he could. He also loved being read to from his children’s Bible and listening to worship music. He may be gone from this physical life, but he has left a big impact on every life that he came into contact with that will be with us forever.
Rowan was preceded in death by his maternal great-great grandparents Jim and Esther Barrowman; maternal great grandfather John Burris; maternal great grandparents John and Joyce Ann Russell; and his paternal great grandparents Harold and Judy Canoy.
Rowan is survived by his parents Wesley and Heather Wilhoit; maternal grandparents Alan and Patricia Russell; maternal great grandmother Linda Burris; paternal grandmother Kimberly Phelps; paternal great grandparents Clifford and Carolyn Wilhoit; aunts Hannah (Tyler) Gaiters, Charlie Phelps, Cecilia Phelps, and Elizabeth Phelps; uncles Bradley Russell and Jeffrey Tatara, Brandon (Allison) Russell, and Shaun Canoy; cousins Chase and Rayne; and many great and great-great aunts and uncles.
We would like to thank the Grant Medical Center NICU for taking such good care of our angel during his time with us; and labor/delivery nurses Jeanne-Marie and Elizabeth who held our hands as we waited for our boy to come into the world and who checked on us after he left.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Rowan to Nationwide Children’s Hospital or March of Dimes.
