

Rubee, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on September 8th, 2022, at the age of 88 years. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 29, 1934, to Heber Samuel Sr. and Beatrice McDaniels Dreher. After graduating from Central High School in 1952, Rubee studied Social Welfare and Theatre Arts at The University of Kentucky. In 1977, she earned her Master of Science in Social Work from University of Louisville, The Kent School of Social Work, where she graduated with honors.
After graduation Rubee and her family moved to Columbus, Ohio where she served as a therapist, educator, mentor, and faithful supporter of her community. Rubee held the position of Outreach Social Worker for Catholic Social Services in Columbus, Ohio. In 1977 she joined the staff at Columbus Area Mental Health Center as a Family and Marital Licensed Independent Social worker. In 1995, Rubee assumed an early retirement to transition her focus, time, and love to her four grandchildren.
Rubee was a published author; she directed and performed her writings at various venues in Louisville and Columbus. She was a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Ohio Chapter and Phi Kappa Phi and appointed Adjunct Instructor by The Ohio State University Department of Social Work.
Her hobbies and interests included volunteering to support youth programs & activities, and community outreach initiatives. Rubee enjoyed gatherings, celebrations, and family vacations. She devoted her time and energy as a caregiver and nurturer to the “family” which included her best friend and loving husband (Irv) of 66 years.
Preceding Rubee in death, husband Irvin S. Moxley, parents, brothers Willis Dreher, Heber Dreher, and Timothy Dreher, sisters Jacqueline Calloway, Bea Dreher and Frances Russell.
Rubee is survived by daughters Helen Oyer (Mike) and Lori Moxley Yoho (Timothy deceased), granddaughters Suzan M. Badawi (Evan), Rachael Paige Yoho, grandsons Stewart Aretus Yoho, Brandon Michael Yoho, great-grands Rubee Grace, and Bronson James Williams. Brother Thomas G. Dreher Sr., Sister-n-laws Shelby Dreher, Sandra Moxley, Ella Mae Dreher; eleven nieces; eight nephews, multiple grand nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The celebration of life service will take place at 10:30 AM, on Friday September 23, at Broad Street Presbyterian Church, 760 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43205.
