Stephanie Renaud Gustave Shawler, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on September 17, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1975, in Brooklyn, New York, to Renaud Andre Gustave and Yoleine Paul Gustave, and was the beloved older sister to her brother, Reginald Gustave. She was preceded in death by her mother, Yoleine, whom she lost at the age of thirteen.
Stephanie attended Uniondale High School before going on to St. John’s University in 1993, later completing her degree in Business Management at Western Governors University. She began her professional career at Microsoft in 1997, where she formed lifelong friendships, and later spent 20 years at Spectrum, where she was known and loved for the genuine relationships she built with her colleagues. Stephanie proudly served as President of The WICT Network (Women in Cable Telecommunications), channelling her passion for mentoring young women, helping them grow and excel in their careers.
On August 9, 2008, Stephanie married the love of her life, Kevin Shawler, and the two made their home in Columbus, Ohio, building their dream house together in 2022. Their bond only grew stronger with every year together, a partnership rooted in deep love, unwavering support, and the joys of travel and adventure. Stephanie was a sheer beacon of love, warmth, humor, kindness, and generosity, known for an infectious laugh and smile that would light up any room. She was passionate about her family, her friends, and her precious pup babies, Chevy and Gidget, who came into her life after her first two beloved dogs, Princessa Bella and Mr. Wiggles, passed away and she poured that same love into every dog that followed.
Stephanie was extremely proud of her Haitian heritage and made sure to educate everyone around her about the significance of Haiti’s rich culture and history. As a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she enjoyed a great tailgate with friends. Always a fan of pop culture and politics, she stayed closely engaged with current events. She loved to travel to exciting places around the world, try new experiences and attend live concerts - she was always looking to make real connections with the people around her.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Kevin Shawler; her father, Renaud Andre Gustave, and his wife, Kathleen Francois Gustave; her brother and best friend, Reginald Gustave; and Kathleen's daughter, Stephanie Francois Carrion.
