Terence Stark

Terrence (Terry) Lee Stark passed away on December 3rd, 2025, at his home in Gahanna, Ohio, under the loving care of his wife of 58 years. Terry (79) was born on July 13, 1946, in Canton and grew up in Beach City, Ohio. After grade school, Terry’s family moved to North Industry, graduating from Canton South High School in 1964. Terry served two years of active duty and three years of reserve in the US Navy, honorably discharged in 1969.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Stark, and his daughter, Tammy Stark.

Terry is survived by his high school sweetheart, Shirley (wife), his sons, Todd (Sally) and Jeff (Angela) Stark, grandsons Derek and Chance (Olivia) Stark, and his brothers, Gary (Pat) and Howard (Anne) Stark.

Terry worked at Timken Steel as an electrician. Later, he worked as a salesman and regional sales manager for garage door companies, and owned and operated Overhead Door Company in Canton, Ohio.

His family moved to Bolivar, Ohio, in 1976, where they lived for 30 years. Terry followed the boys’ many baseball, soccer, and football games, as well as their other extracurricular activities, always there to support, encourage, and advise. Moving to Tennessee to be closer to the grandchildren, Terry found great joy as a Grandpa, never missed a grandparent’s day at school, served others in a variety of ways, and was especially proud of his time volunteering in the cardiac rehab unit of a local hospital after his own heart bypass surgery.

Terry’s humor, puns, honesty, and devotion to his family will be missed. In place of flowers, please donate to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The family will hold a graveside service presided over by Rev. Jeff Stark at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Canton, Ohio, on Tuesday, December 9th, at 11:00 AM, where he will be buried alongside his daughter Tammy.
