

Theron Shull Ward, born March 28, 1931 in Gahanna, Ohio, and passed away in the arms of his family on February 19, 2025. A life long resident of Gahanna, he was the son of Dale L. & Genevra Shull Ward.
Theron graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School and was the Vice President of his class. He kept in touch with the members of the class through their “49ers club.” He was the co-editor of the Gahanna Times newspaper. He went on the attend The Ohio State University to study forestry but was drafted into the United States Army in 1952, serving in Korea, a member of the 1795 tank company, 224th Infantry Regiment.
After serving, Theron returned to Gahanna,to work the family dairy farm. Ward Dairy was situated where Royal Manor housing edition stands, and his parents farm was located at 574 & 573 Johnstown Road which is now McKenna Crossing.
Theron found his way into the insurance business working for and retiring from Motorist Mutual Insurance, now Encova, and working with car insurance for Mary Miller Patton as well.
Theron & family attended Central College Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder, and he was also a former member of Mifflin Presbyterian church.
Theron was a member of the Gahanna Lions club and worked many years at the flea market and other functions.
Theron enjoyed his family and friends and doing things for others. He enjoyed caring for animals, either wild or domestic.
Theron was preceded in death by the love of his life, Melanie L. (Diamond) Ward, who died on November 13, 2003.
He is survived by sons Theron D. (Bonnie) Ward and Mark S. (Roberta) Ward; daughters Jodell (Stan) Manos and Michelle Ward; grandchildren Terry D. (Victoria) Ward, Janella (Randall) Murphy, Robert Ward, Dr. Molly C. Ward (Matt Gilmore), Kenzie (Joe) Lesh, Alex (Brynn) Manos, Taylor (Crew) Cochran, Parker Manos, and Connor Manos; great grandchildren, Colt, Scarlett, Dominic, Kaden, Eliza, Bentley, Riley, Miles, Josie and Teagan; sister Blodwyn Newton of Ocala Florida; sister-in-law, Marlene Boe of Oak Harbor Washington; and special friend and lunch partner, Marc Perdue.
He will be missed forever by his family, friends and community.
After a private family viewing, private interment will be held at Mifflin Township Cemetery.
