

Born on December 29, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, Tom was the son of the late Elmer and Olga (Fortuna) Gyurko. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Gyurko.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He went on to pursue his passion for engineering, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo and a Master’s degree from Xavier University. Tom dedicated his professional career to Mettler Toledo Scale Company, where he worked as an electrical engineer until his retirement.
A devoted family man, Tom is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janet Gyurko; his son, Jeffrey (Andrea) Gyurko; his daughter, Rebecca (Shawn) Douglas; his sisters, Rose Gyurko and Patricia Steele; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 10 AM at Schoedinger Margarum Northeast, followed by a visitation from 11 AM to 1 PM.
