Thomas F. Irvin, 70, of Whitehall, passed away on July 23, 2022. He was born at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina on April 13, 1952, to Thomas and Ruth Irvin. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, John Irvin.
Tom served proudly for many years as a volunteer fireman, beginning in the years prior to his graduation from Johnstown Monroe HS (class of 1970). He loved to visit firehouses and learn the unique qualities of each one. He enjoyed a lengthy career as a truck driver at numerous companies. He never met a person he couldn’t start a conversation with and was known for telling stories. He was a dedicated supporter of his family and especially loved attending sporting events. He adopted his first cat to fulfill a promise to Linda, but soon discovered he was crazy about them and gave a loving home to 10 throughout their 50 years of marriage.
Tom will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Linda Irvin; children Jennifer (Robert) Burns and Joseph (Taylor) Irvin; stepmother, Donna Irvin; grandchildren Kendyl, Lauryl, and Addileigh; brother Rick (Heather) Irvin; sister-in-law Judy Irvin; and nieces Mia, Melina, and nephew Casey.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4-7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E Johnstown Rd, Gahanna. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 30 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens, 7060 OH-3, Westerville, OH 43082.
