

He was preceded in death by his father, Simon John Rodney Forsythe, in 2018. Toby is survived by his mother Melanie C. Forsythe-Lee and stepfather Andrew Lee; brother, Zac (Brynn) Forsythe; sister, Evangeline Forsythe, grandparents, Chris and Charmian Gleeson, of Newcastle, Australia; Rodney and Maureen Forsythe of Burralong, Australia; Uncles, Nick (Madeline) Gleeson, Ben (Jemima) Gleeson, Christopher (Beth) Gleeson, Matthew (Haylee) Forsythe, Adam Forsythe, and Glen James alongside many cousins. He is also remembered by multitudes of friends, coaches, and teachers within his home state of Ohio and across Massachusetts and Australia.
Toby was a 2023 graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School. Following graduation, Toby attended Ashland University and Shawnee State University, serving as a goalkeeper for both school’s collegiate soccer teams. As a rising Junior, Toby studied Economics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he continued to be force on the soccer pitch.
Tobias will be remembered for his charismatic nature, his undying care for his friends and family, and his unrelenting love for Jesus. In the midst of change and adversity, Toby’s strong ambition propelled him to reach heights his family never could have imagined. Serving his God with this same level of devotion, Toby led many to the simple and transformative Gospel that he learned from his parents as a child. Throughout his life, as he faithfully ran his race, he continued to bring many alongside him, pointing them to the hope and grace he found in Christ.
Above all, his family is proud of the wonderful man that he was and the living legacy that he leaves.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Vineyard Church – Westerville, 6000 Cooper Road, Westerville. A private family interment will follow at Mifflin Cemetery, where Toby will be laid to rest beside his father.
