Veronica Neil

Veronica Jenkins Goolsby Neil, 79, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born July 28, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Henry Jenkins, Sr. and Annabelle Jenkins. She was a graduate of Central High School and The Ohio State University. She held several jobs during her lifetime that included being a librarian for Columbus Metropolitan Library (MLK Branch), a classroom teacher for CPS, an associate editor for Merrill Publishing Co., an administrative assistant at Chase Bank, and a medical transcriptionist for various companies. Outside of her career, mom played tennis as a young adult, was a puppeteer and youth choir director at church at Second Baptist Church and was a faithful servant to The Truth Church. She devoted much of her time to raising Heath and Cam and getting them to their extracurricular activities. She had a command of the English language and assisted the family with formal letters, essays or speeches when called upon. Veronica is survived by her children, Heath (Clarissa) Goolsby and Cameron (Ann) Goolsby; grandchildren, Kennedy Goolsby, Devon Stevens, Cierra Stevens, and Chase Goolsby; great-granddaughter, Milani Stevens; brother, Henry Jenkins, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Friday July 21, 2023 at The Truth Church, 1500 Barnett road, Columbus Ohio 43227. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast.
