Annie Ruth Shows

Annie Ruth Young Shows of Mt. Olive, AL was born September 20, 1932 and passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. She was born and raised in Brent, AL. After High School she attended Nursing School at DCH and was an RN for more than 30 years. Mrs. Shows was a precious and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Troy C. Shows (her Rock); parents, E. Huey and Annie Dell Wright Young; most of her siblings and in-laws; and close friends, the Pates.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn S. Bailey, Mark Shows (Chris), Charlotte S. Morgan, and Cheryl S. Haakman (Hans); grandchildren, Joel, Amanda, and Seth; and her three great grandchildren; a brother, Grover Young (Vivian); numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Also a special thank you to her caregivers with Oasis, Michelle and Ivy; SPH, Bre and others; and, especially Althea and Jeff. Now us her children, loved ones and others know that Jesus has carried her to where we will all meet on God’s heavenly shore. We love and will miss you, our mother, mom, maw, and nanny.

Services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with visitation beginning one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
