Bettie Faye will be remembered as a beloved and cherished presence whose life was marked by steady devotion, generous care, and a kind-hearted spirit that made others feel seen and welcomed. Compassion guided her in quiet, enduring ways, and her faithful love—anchored in what mattered most to her—shaped the home and family she held so close.
She retired from Yieldings after 25 years of service, a testament to her dedication and reliability. A devoted member of Mt. Olive First Baptist, Bettie Faye’s faith was central to her life; she loved her family deeply, but most of all, she loved her Lord. Her warmth was often felt around the table and in the everyday moments she made special—enjoying time with family, cooking, and camping. She also took delight in cheering on Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves, bringing her steady enthusiasm to seasons and Saturdays alike.
Ms. Bettie is survived by her children, Vicki McAlpine (Sherman), Debbie Harmon, and Donna Thomas; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, James Thomas; parents, Maude & Harrison Belcher; son, Robert Thomas (Daughter-in-law is Johnnie); son-in-law, Jeff Harmon; and two grandchildren, Brad Wright and Ethan Quick.
