

Ms. Betty Jean Anderton was preceded in death by her husband James (Bud) Anderton, her parents Clara Abney Blair and Albert Abney, her stepfather Rev. Thomas H. Blair, her sister Ann Taylor, her brother Lloyd Abney and sister-in-law Wanda Abney, and her son-in-law, Bryant Terry.
She is survived by her daughters Carolyn Terry and Debbie (Terry) Whitt, her grandchildren Marcie (Chris) Williams, Jennifer (Tyler) Penner, Krissi (Scott) Ellis, Katelyn (Adam) Smith, and Chance (Aimee) Whitt, her great-grandchildren Olivia, Arden, Riley, Cole, Jaxson, and Gavin, and her favorite granddog Georgia.
For 94 years Betty made the world a better place! Nobody knew how to enjoy every day more than she did. She loved to laugh, to travel, and she loved her family fiercely. Now she is laughing with her husband, her family, and an amazing group of lifelong friends. This world will be a little less exciting without her in it, but we know she is fully healed and happy.
Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Wednesday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow service at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
